Aloha Kakou,

President Hiko'ulo Hanapi opening message

The Keomailani Hanapi Foundation (KHF) enters at a time when social and political changes will change Hawaiian self-determination, sovereignty and the way native Hawaiian artists see the world today. It is a new age of Hawaiian culture and arts experience and a movement to expand Maoli thought beyond our native shores. Our Board of Directors are predominantly native Hawaiian and our focus is on native Hawaiian advancement in the arts. The beneficiaries however, represent people of all races who enjoy and are concerned about the state of native Hawaiian art and artists and their own connection to this unique Hawaiian culture and people.
KHF encourages native artists to experiment with new art technologies to develop new expressions for native spirituality, culture, and develop economic independence, all the while keeping a discerning eye to retain the native Hawaiian identity as new art forms evolve.
In our motto, "'Ike ia no ka loea, i ke kuahu - the expert is seen in the altar that is built," is the measure by which the KHF will grow. Each stone, or project completed, will be liken to the altar that KHF is building for all to not only see but be a part of.

Me ke aloha pumehana,

Hiko'ula Hanapi,

President, KHF

Mahalo to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs for the funding to build this web site.
