Outcomes
In respect to aiding indigenous communities, the participating PIKO indigenous artists will initiate and strengthen professional and personal affiliations formed at prior gathering, acquire new processes and techniques as they experience the mentoring and collaborating opportunities that will characterize the gathering and will further develop skills for managing their careers as artists in concert with their respective community's goals.
Participants will develop organizational and interpersonal skills to conduct future educational and cultural events locally, nationally and internationally and will educate students and the larger community about indigenous art via gallery openings, slide lectures, exhibits and forums.
Organizers will further develop and disseminate an international database of indigenous artists. A documentation of the gathering including images of the artists working and interacting and of their artwork created during the gathering will be produced in photographs, print materials, and video for local and international distribution.
